Überblick
Überblick An Giang ist die stromaufwärts gelegene Provinz des Mekong-Deltas an der südwestlichen Grenze zu Kambodscha, wo der Mekong nach Vietnam eintritt und sich in den Tien- und Hau-Fluss teilt.
Die Provinz ist berühmt für den Berg Sam, den Tempel Ba Chua Xu — eine spirituelle Pilgerstätte, die jährlich Millionen Besucher anzieht — und den Tra-Su-Kajeputwald mit seiner beeindruckenden Szenerie.
An Giang beherbergt große Cham- und Khmer-Gemeinschaften, die eine reiche multikulturelle Identität schaffen.
Die jährliche Hochwassersaison ist ein einzigartiges Naturphänomen, das reiche Naturprodukte hervorbringt.
