Überblick
Überblick Dong Thap ist eine Provinz im Mekong-Delta, entlang des Oberlaufs des Tien-Flusses gelegen und an Kambodscha grenzend.
Die Provinz ist berühmt für den Nationalpark Tram Chim, Lebensraum des seltenen Mandschurenkranichs, und für seine ausgedehnten Lotusfelder, die während der jährlichen Hochwassersaison blühen.
Dong Thap trägt den Beinamen „Land des rosa Lotus" mit vielen unverwechselbaren Produkten aus Lotus.
Besonderheiten
Die Stadt Cao Lanh ist das Verwaltungszentrum, während Sa Dec für sein Blumendorf und seine historische Architektur berühmt ist.
Wirtschaft
Die Wirtschaft entwickelt sich über Reisanbau, Aquakultur, Obstproduktion (Mango, Longan, Mandarine) und Ökotourismus während der Hochwassersaison.
Dong Thap ist Vorreiter bei innovativen Modellen des landwirtschaftlichen Unternehmertums in der Region.
