Überblick
Überblick Lao Cai ist eine nördliche Grenzprovinz im Hochland Vietnams am Zusammenfluss des Roten Flusses und des Chay-Flusses, angrenzend an die Provinz Yunnan in China.
Die Provinz beheimatet den Fansipan ( 3.143 m) , den höchsten Punkt Indochinas, im Hoang-Lien-Son-Gebirge.
Die Stadt Sa Pa ist ein international renommiertes Reiseziel mit atemberaubenden Reisterrassen und der vielfältigen Kultur der Hmong, Dao, Tay und Giay.
Wirtschaft
Die Wirtschaft ist breit aufgestellt mit grenzüberschreitendem Handel über den internationalen Grenzübergang Lao Cai, Tourismus, Bergbau, Hochlandlandwirtschaft und Heilpflanzenanbau.
Lao Cai ist ein zentraler Handelsknotenpunkt am Wirtschaftskorridor Kunming–Lao Cai–Hanoi–Hai Phong.
